The Tales of the Scrap Bin
I've always been fond of fabric, the art, the colors, the potential. I also have a hard time getting rid of scraps, such a horrid word. I like to call them tiny pieces, waiting for a new project to cross my table. Thus, the scrap bin grows and grows...and grows until it's looking at me, longingly, while I'm sewing those beautiful project bags on their way to new homes. 2024 was a year of news for me. The Itty Bitty was born, made from the weird middle piece after cutting the larger project bags. The project folder was the brain child of a customer and I love making them. The closure is a zipper pouch, made from the tiny pieces, scraps. I would like 2025 to be a year of recycling. As my scrap bin grows, they push the limits of my creativity to use them instead of toss them. I often get asked why my prices are so low. Its the coupons, I stack those coupons, like my mamma taught me, browse the clearance listing, dig through the estate sales, spend hoursssssss on Facebook fabric groups looking, hunting, finding fabrics that were once loved enough to keep for years. This small listing here on my corner of Etsy is a home for those tiny pieces made up of scraps from fabrics we loved.
